Healthy Diabetes Diet

In order to keep the blood glucose in a healthy balance, a healthy diabetes diet is needed and the right discipline to follow it through.

According to the National Diabetes Information Clearing House (NDIC), a diabetic person must eat equal amounts of food on a daily basis; eat their meals and snacks at a regular time daily, and to not skip meals or snacks.

Aside from monitoring the sugar level, diabetic persons must also check their cholesterol level as they are also at risk in having a heart disease.

To maintain the blood sugar levels and cholesterol, you need to have a healthy food selection, do regular exercises and take the medicines that your doctor prescribed to you.

The ADA has provided some dietary approval for retaining healthy cholesterol and triglyceride ranges:

  • Choose lean meats and meat substitutes
  • Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day
  • Eat more foods that are high in fiber
  • Eat less salt and sodium
  • Switch to low-fat or fat-free dairy products
  • Eat less fats, especially less saturated fats
  • Limit foods that are high in cholesterol like egg yolks, high-fat dairy products,  high-fat meat, and poultry
  • Eat fish two or three times a week with high-protective fat like tuna and salmon
  • Cook in low-fat methods like roasting, grilling, by cooking using spray or baking

Cheerios and Weight Loss Claims

When you like a quick and easy meal or something to eat for a snack or breakfast, you’ll probably go with a cereal or something that is similar to it.

Cheerios is one of the many cereal products that most weight conscious people eat before they run off to their offices or schools. The product’s popularity increases at a very fast rate and hundreds, if not thousands, of happy customers are raving about its “weight loss wonder”.

Cheerios and Weight Loss

The manufacturer claims that this cereal food is naturally made from whole grain oats. These oats have soluble fiber that helps absorb some cholesterol that can naturally be removed from your body.

Cheerios and Your Health

Cheerios, apart from its soluble content, also has vitamins, plant nutrients and anti-oxidants that keep one’s body to stay healthy. It’s good to be part of a diet too, as it only has fewer grams of fat per serving, has low-fat content, has a good source of calcium, contains protein, and with less sugar content.

Health benefits include lowering a person’s cholesterol level and the risk of heart disease.

T Factor Diet and Healhty Weight Loss

T Factor Diet History

Letter T in the T Factor Diet means ‘Thermogenesis Effect” or “Thermic Effect”, pertaining to the ability to burn calories.

T Factor Diet was created by Dr. Martin Kahtan in 1989 and was updated later on in the year 1994, where it was popularly known as the first diet book that promoted dietary fat reduction as a realistic way to obtain good health and a slimmer body.

Dr. Kahtan’s studies state that only the fat in the foods you eat can add up to the fats stored in your body.

The T factor diet claims that what is more significant is the recommended amount of daily fat content coming from the right foods rather than the number of calories you intake.

In Dr. Kahtan’s studies and as scientifically proven, carbohydrate calories are burned faster than fat calories, giving you the feeling of not getting hungry all the time.

Grapefruit Diet – Another Safe Way To Lose Weight

I’m sure that you’ve heard about the “grapefruit diet” that has been buzzing the internet these days and slowly being advertised on the sidewalk and billboards.

And I’m pretty sure too that the word “diet” attached after the grapefruit is what caught your attention to it.

I have been receiving a lot of emails regarding this type of diet and instead of answering your questions one by one; I’ve decided to make a post about it.

GrapefruitWhat is Grapefruit Diet?

As the name implies, it’s a diet involving grapefruit – carries simple carbohydrate that is rich in fiber. This fruit has no fat, low in calories and sodium and is filled with vitamin C.

For dieters, the fruit is believed to help trim down a person’s appetite, when combined with their diet plan.

A Little Bit of Its History…

Grapefruit diet has been actively present for the past several years. It was first introduced by Mr. Kelly D. Brownell in the 1930. From there, it just spread through word of mouth to books and then the internet.

Grapefruit is also known as Mayo Diet or Hollywood Diet.

How Did It Became a Diet?

The grapefruit has a “magical” ingredient that when gobbled with protein food, it elicits fat burning effect thus causing weight loss. It contains enzymes that accelerate the way our body burns fat.

The cause of quick weight loss from other diets is mainly from fluids and not fats. They claim that when doing this diet, it is possible to lose weight up to 10 pounds in just 12 days without being famished as you would still enjoy your regular meal at regular times.

Catabolic Diet – Foods That Help You Burn Fat Fast!

Catabolic diet is based from the theory that there are specific foods that burn up more calories than what they supply to the body. It has been said that this is more effective compared to a starvation diet.

“Catabolism is the metabolic breakdown of complex molecules into simpler ones, often resulting in a release of energy. This relates on the whole vital processes in the body’s cell, not the properties of foods.”

Catabolic diet claims that taking certain foods that have a catabolic reaction on the body will help in weight loss. This is because the process that takes the body to digest will become calorie-free; however, this should also be incorporated by a low calorie food intake.

Catabolic foods are mostly rich in fiber or water, content like fruits and vegetables. These catabolic foods are all very low in calories. This type of diet allows foods that are high in vitamins and minerals.

To maintain or lose weight, eat a minimum of ten servings per day with other protein and carbohydrates foods – taken with the right moderation.

Catabolic DietThere are foods that have a rating catabolic substance. To give you some example of such foods:

Group of high rating catabolic fruits – oranges, pineapple, strawberries and grapefruits.

Group of high rating catabolic vegetables – tomato, cucumbers, carrots, asparagus, eggplant, sweet potato, broccoli, lettuce, celery, peppers, and parsley leaves.
